Oyo State Governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, has said that a former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, goofed by comparing his (Alao-Akala’s) administration with that of his predecessor, Alhaji Lam Adesina.
He recalled that the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, to which both Adesina and Tinubu belong, said Adesina performed poorly during his tenure as the state governor.
Alao-Akala was reacting to a statement credited to Tinubu that there had been no visible development in Oyo State and that the Action Congress of Nigeria would upstage Alao-Akala in the 2011 elections and rescue the state.
The governor’s reaction was contained in a statement titled ‘Tinubu’s gambit unstuck in Oyo’ made available to our correspondent in Ibadan, the state capital on Tuesday, by his Special Adviser on Public Communications, Mr. Dotun Oyelade.
He said the former Lagos governor’s “expansionist project will come unstuck in Oyo State.”

He said, “While we marvel at his ignorance and mischief, Tinubu should perish the thought of installing his District Officer in Oyo State as done in Ekiti and Osun states.”
