JIMOH IBRAHIM’S BROTHER DUMPS PDP

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party in the Ondo South Senatorial District may have worsened with the defection of a major senatorial aspirant on the platform of the party, Mr. Akinsola Jimoh, to the National Transformation Party.
Jimoh, the elder brother of billionaire businessman, Mr. Ibrahim Jimoh, told journalists in Akure on Tuesday that he joined the NTP in Akure on Sunday because he was forced out of the PDP as a result of the alleged lack of internal democracy in the party.
Jimoh alleged that there was a plot by the leadership of the party to impose a former governor of the state, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, on the party.
But the PDP’s Director of Publicity in Ondo State, Mr. Ayo Fadaka, on Tuesday said Jimoh was not a member of the PDP and that it was wrong of him to say that he had dumped the party.
Fadaka, in a telephone interview with our correspondent, also explained that Agagu was the only senatorial aspirant in Ondo South that was known to the party.
“Jimoh is not a member of the PDP. He only saw in the party an opportunity to actualise his supposed ambition but it is too late,” he said.
