EKITI COMMAND DEPLOYS 2,500 POLICEMEN

The Ekiti State Police Command has deployed 2,500 policemem to monitor the by-election holding on Wednesday (today) in the 49 polling units in Moba Constituency I in Moba Local Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti State, Mr. Mohammed Jimoh, said this in a telephone interview with correspondent in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday.

Also, officials of the State Security Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps will monitor the election.

The seat, which became vacant following the death of the former Deputy Speaker, Mr. Saliu Adeoti, will be contested by the Action Congress of Nigeria, Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, which are the three leading parties in the state.
