IJE RETURNS TO CINEMAS FOR CHRISTMAS

Due to the unprecedented and popular demand of the movie IJE: The Journey,  will come back to the cinemas this Christmas for a special holiday release.

Director/Producer Chineze Anyaene, says she is excited the movie is coming back to the cinemas, and that her work is appreciated and loved by many. She appreciates the love and support so far and thanked all who have taken the movie to where it is today. She says, “it will be an opportunity for Nigerians in diaspora who will be spending the holidays in their home country to see the movie.

This will also provide an opportunity for people to see it for the last time on the big screen before it goes on DVD”.
Chineze is one of Nigeria’s youngest movie directors and has IJE which is her first feature and school thesis breaking records and setting new grounds. It is believed that alot of new Nigerian movies will ride on this glory. The movie will be screen in all Silverbird , Ozone and Genesis deluxe cinemas from the 24th Dec to Jan 6th 2011

IJE tells the  story of two loyal sisters with unbreakable bonds and the power of human spirit. When Anya (Omotola Jalade Ekeinde), the elder of the two, vows to chase her dreams of glamour, fame and wealth in America, her younger sister, Chioma(Genevieve Nnaji) warns her of the dark side of America dream.

Years later, Anya  is charge with the murder of three men, which includes her husband, and Chioma travels to help her sister with the aid of an attorney. As the trail unfolds, the “truth” is slowly unraveled, the cultural values of two worlds, and personal morals come to an explosive collision.

IJE is the highest grossing Nigerian movie so far beating a lot of foreign movies including Salt and Inception in the Nigerian box office. It ranks next to Avatar in Nigeria.
